■ Economic Sanctions on ‘Iranian’ In Korea ■

Office of International Services, CBNU is officially notifying that International students from Iran may face these difficulties due to intensified economic sanctions on Iran according to NH bank on campus.

Since it may affect your study, please be mindful below;

A. Secutiry level

Currently Iran is internationally treated as equivalent to north Korea’s security level due to world economic sanctions.

B. Bank account

Even though you are successfully admitted to CBNU and apply for creating bank account on campus, it is NOT guaranteed since;

- There will be very strict screening, approval procedures to go through for making bank account

- Your application for bank account may be rejected after background check

- Once it is approved, it may take a couple of months to receive bank account

C. Restrictions on your account

- No overseas transaction(Wiring, exchange etc.)

- No cash withdrawal from cash dispensing machine

- No cash service with a debit/credit card

- You might be required to report your transactions to NH bank every week

■ ‘이란국적자’ 대상 경제제재 관련 안내 ■

충북대학교 국제교류본부에서는 학내 농협은행과의 협의에 의거하여 다음과 같이 안내합니다.

우리정부의 경제제재에 따라 이란국적 유학생을 대상으로 아래과 같은 제한사항들이 적용되며, 이는 학업에 지장을 줄 수 있음을 안내하오니, 반드시 사전에 참고하여 주시기 바랍니다.

1. 보안 등급

현재 이란은 북한과 같은 위험도 등급으로 국제적으로 통용되고 있음

2. 은행계좌 개설

입학전형 합격 후 입학하게 되더라도, 계좌개설 신청은 가능하나, 개설 보장은 없음

- 최종 계좌개설까지 약 10단계의 승인이 필요

- Background Check에서 승인 거절 가능성 있음

- 신청 후 약 1~2달 승인기간 소요

3. 최종 계좌가 개설되더라도 아래의 제한이 따름

- 외환거래 불가(송금, 환전 등)

- 현금 출금 불가

- 카드 현금인출 불가

- 1주일마다 거래내역 보고해야함(학생이 본인 거래내역을 농협에 제출)
